« George F. Will – Out of Wisconsin, a lesson in leadership for Obama
The Federal Budget in Pictures »

Straight from the Source

February 26, 2011 by Dale Anne

Facts regarding Wisconsin’s budget repair bill are non-filtered and precise in Scott Fitzgerald’s (Wisconsin State Senator, Senate Majority Leader) letter to the workers and families of Wisconsin, dated February 15, 2010.

As is usually the case, liberals won’t play if they can’t get their way and 14 Democrat state senators fled the Wisconsin statehouse to avoid performing a duty they were elected for – voting on bills. This is another in a long line of examples of how liberals govern in their fantasy tax-and-spend-never-pay-the-piper fashion-and-if-you-don’t-agree-I’ll-take-my-toys-and-go-away. What has happened to the will of the people?

Of course, you don’t have to look further than our top government official, President Barack Obama, to see how laws and the will of the masses are purposely overlooked to meet the liberal agenda. Earlier this week, Obama told the Justice Department to stop defending the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act – a law signed in 1996 by former President Clinton. How is this different from stating, “Ignore the civil rights law” because Obama believes the law to be unconstitutional? The gall and haughtiness of this administration never ceases to amaze.

Back to Wisconsin’s woes…a copy of Fitzgerald’s letter is attached and disproves the ever-quoted, lamestream media’s misnomer that proposed legislation will take away workers’ rights to bargain collectively. Proposed legislation does NOT remove the right to bargain collectively, it REDUCES their right and puts it on the same level as many other states; specifically removing the right to sweet retirement and benefit deals where personal contributions are far below the private sector’s averages.

Liberals are all about ‘spreading the wealth’ but look the other way when ‘sharing the sacrifice’ needs to be implemented to stop the spewing blood loss  of a budget that has it’s carotid slashed.

Nothing but the Facts, Scott Fitzgerald

2Cents — my pleasure to get the truthful and factual word out. I only hope it reaches many people and does not fall on deaf ears. As usual, your comments are spot on.

    Thank you!

Buckeye, Thanks for getting this word out. While the democrats (who are desperately protecting their campaign contributions) and brainwashed union members squeal about worker’s rights and dress like pigs in the state capital, they ignor the will of the vast majority of Wisconsin resident taxpayers. Oh sure, union workers pay taxes too. But, it is a direct conflict of interest for government workers to be unionized. This is not a worker’s right. it should never have been permitted in the first place. Doing so proved beyond a doubt that it should not have been done.
Trying to negotiate with a union for government pay and benefits is not successful. Just look at any state now. How many government workers are without jobs after two years of unprescidented layoffs in the private sector? Very few, by comparison.
In the private workplace is it your RIGHT to have union representation? Well, the unions would like you to think so. But, not really. It can be your choice if you and your other workers agree to union representation. If it was so great, however, the union wouldn’t be lobbying for the elimination of secret ballots in the workplace during the process.
The unions are desperately trying to protect their income for the union and its leadership. They never give a damn about the workers unless it benefits the union.
Most unfortunate in all this is 14 elected state senators that think because they can’t get their own way they are going to hold up the democratic process. They are all in violation of their oaths of office. There should be no respect granted to this group. Did the Stealers run from the field when they knew they could not win the Superbowl? These men and women (even though they are acting like spoiled children without any brains) lack INTEGRITY! Well, most politicians do, but this group also lacks SELF RESPECT. They will long be remembered for this action alone. No matter what good they may have done in their lives, their families, their communities. Their legacy will be their foolish choice to run and hide.
JFK is remembered for “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Well, the republicans are facing up to the unpopular task of cleaning up the mess the democrat majority left for them (some of the 14 are responsible for that, as well.) They are the majority party and they are doing the task the way they see it.
Perhaps we should be referring to these defectors as Confederates. That seems to be the only other time in our nation’s history that public officials ran-out. But, that was another time and matter.
